Tips to Help You Learn How to Meditate

Tip number 1: Do not change your breathing patterns.

What this mean is, you shouldn't breathe in and out too quickly to too slowly. Instead, the right thing to do is maintaining your breathing patter as you normally would do when inhaling and exhaling. If you are going to breathe in and out too quickly, then it'll make you to lose your focus and not experience the real effectiveness of meditation. On the other hand, if you breath out and in too slowly, then it is going to be more like a chore. Tip number 2: Close your eyes.

Don't carry out meditation with your eyes wide open. Whenever possible, try to close your eyes when doing it to be able to clear your mind from any distractions that will otherwise be exposed when your eyes are wide open.

Tip number 3: Sit on a meditation pillow or cushion.

Sitting on a pillow or cushion while doing your meditation will assist in aligning your vertebra. This is going to keep you from being distracted due to the aches and pains you might feel in your back due to bad posture throughout your meditation exercise.

Tip number 3: Try using guided meditation CD.

You must consider trying various meditation CDs to guide you in your meditation sessions. These instructional CDs are going to help you to meditate for longer period of time. Try different meditation guides until you found the one that works perfectly for you. Read about thoughts on life online here.

Tip number 4: Avoid performing meditations with an empty stomach or after eating.

If you try to meditate when you're hungry, it is pretty obvious that you'll get easily distracted due to hunger pangs. On the other  hand, if you try to meditate right after you eat, then you'll feel to be sleepy while meditating and likely to fall asleep rather than to meditate.
